Alcazar is both a sportive and result driven club, but we are also a club that focuses on having a good time, good training and the possibility to play in the regular competition of the Dutch Volleyball Association (NeVoBo). After every home-match night, we go for a drink in our favourite pub Villa Kakelbont. On top of that, the Partysquad is sure to organize some great events and parties during the season! 

Alcazar plays in the regional regular competition of the Nevobo, in which we are currently competing with two Men's teams and three Women's teams. The men play in 2nd and 3rd class, the women play in 2nd, 3rd and 4th class. This means that there is a place for everyone, whether you're a beginner or am experienced player... 

The home matches are played on Thurday evenings in the Sportsbuilding of the Erasmus University; away matches are usually played on Saturday, but might also be planned during the week. This depends on what the home-playing club has decided.

Trainings will take place on Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday night. Some teams will train one time a week, others will train two times. All this information can be found on the teampages.

IF you want to join us, you have to buy a sportscard from the University. These are for sale at the frontdesk in the Sportsbuilding. If you want to play competition for Alcazar, you pay a club contribution of 80 euro per year. This allows you to play competition during the whole season. You will also receive our clubmagazine The Alcatraz.

You can also become a trainingmember, in which case you will also receive the clubmagazine, but you are NOT allowed to play in the competition. This membership will cost 25 euro per year. Please note that you still have to buy a sportscard!

As we have mentioned before, Alcazar is more than just competition volleyball. We are the proud organisators of one the biggest international mixed student volleyballtournaments in Europe. Every year, teams from several European countries compete in this tournament. In 2007, the tournament took place for the 20th time!

Besides this tournament, we also try to organise tournaments within the club, of which the "Pak-Je-Partner" Tournament (Grab your partner tournament...) is definitely the most famous and notorious one. Finally, we also organise an Alcaday every year as well as several other parties and events...
